Lifeless

"You could plant me like a tree beside a river
You could tangle me in soil and let my roots run wild
And I would blossom like a flower in the desert
But for now just let me cry...
Bind up these broken bones
Mercy bend and breathe me back to life
But not before You show me how to die."

Sweetest Card

Babysitting.. it's more than just watching kids.
It's playing with them, it's getting to know their personalities, it's hugging them when they cry, it's making them laugh. And before you know it, you're attached and you love those kiddos.

Dance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance.

I Love This Photo

Because I wish I could always have this feeling (of weightlessness, of freedom, of utter bliss). Because I wish I could always be this carefree. Because I wish I still had that sweet childlike innocence.
Because I wish this is all it would take for my many worries to simply fade away.

Matthew 6

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the fields, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you-- you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat? What shall we drink? What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

(can you find the squirrel?)

They say that things just cannot grow
Beneath the winter snow
Or so I have been told.

They say we're buried far
Just like a distant star
I simply cannot hold.

Our Gingerbread House

In all its imperfections, it's still beautiful. Because Ellie and I made it together. And that's better than a thousand glamourous gingerbread houses any day.

Pondering Christmas After It's Over

Angels from the realms of glory
Wing your flight o'er all the earth.
Ye who sang creation's story
Now proclaim Messiah's birth.

Come and worship
Come and worship
Worship Christ the newborn King.
